I like John Deere tractors. I have two, one with a cab and one without. I also owned a 4020, but I sold it because the 4430 is even better for my purposes. It's big enough to do some serious work, but it is still small enough to drive around easily on the farm. I will agree that it can be hard to start, but that's just the way these tractors are designed. My dad has a 1973 model that he has never had serviced until this fall, and even after 12500 hours of use, it still runs perfectly. They are rugged machines that can last you forever with a little regular maintenance. When you test-drive one, if it gives you any problems when shifting into D range or popping out of gear or something like that, don't take the seller's word for it—those things are easy to adjust!
