I really enjoy driving the John Deere 4020. It is the best tractor I have ever driven. One thing to keep in mind if buying a really early 4020 is that there are no longer control valves available through Deere or anywhere else. These valves are typically pretty reliable, but cracking is a possibility. Another reason I don’t recommend the second SSV is that it eliminates your ability to run a backhoe and bucket at the same time (you would need two separate SSVs). Another valid reason for getting another SSV would be if you rarely use the backhoe and would like to have more flexibility in your spraying operations.
